The primary objective of the design of the new Supreme Court complex was to establish the Annexe as a modern office complex for the Registry and the Facility Center for the Litigants & Lawyers that will be a milestone. The key objectives for development of The Annexe were –
– To develop a State of Art world class Office Complex providing modern efficient facilities and integrating technology and modern planning concepts.
– Have an Integrated and Compact Complex which will be Energy Efficient and at par with Office Complexes internationally.
– Connectivity with the Court complex for fast track movement of Documents from Registry to the Court. For the same it is proposed to have a dedicated Document Mover below grade linking directly to the Center of the Court Complex.
– To develop top class infrastructure facilities and have One window system facilitating speedy follow ups.
– To have planned and segregated movement for the various Stake holders and Users;
Judicially, Litigants, Court Officials, Lawyers Supports & Services
– To have better security for the Registry and consequently, the Court complex, with the shifting of the Registry which is dispersed across the existing buildings, from the Court premises.
– To cater for parking to the large number of vehicles of Court staff and visitors. For the same 2000 car parking is proposed in the basement levels.
– To provide convenient facilities such as litigants hall, Stamp Vendors, Bank, Post, Ticketing and Cate in the integrated block.
– A state of Art Convention Centre for exchange of knowledge in the field of Judiciary within India and Internationally.
